A full cutaway of the world famous French winner of the Blue Riband. Very careful attention has been taken to accurately reproduce each of the ship's luxurious details. A wonderful addition for the serious ocean liner collector.
Starting in 1935, the Normandie was the largest, fastest and most luxurious ship in the world. On her maiden voyage, she set the transatlantic speed record at 29.98 and 31.31 knots on her return to France. Seized by the US in 1939, she caught fire and capsized in New York harbor only to be refloated years later and scrapped.
The framed size is 22.5" wide by 8.5" high.
Natural Basswood finish (as pictured) is mounted on a Baltic Blue matte and surrounded by a rich cherry finish frame.
